If you are looking for jewelry design courses, many community colleges offer them. However, if you would like condensed training, GIA in Carlsbad offers a Jewelry Design Course. You can find out more at:
    .
If you would like a B.A. in jewelry design, I believe F.I.T. in New York offers a degree, I think the Academy of Art in San Francisco also offers a fine arts degree with an emphasis on jewelry design. If you’re looking for an A.A. degree FIDM, has just added a jewelry design major to their programs but you it is only an A.A. and not a B.A. Since you’re going to be in San Diego, I will tell you to look into GIA and maybe FIDM. I hope this helps and good luck!
